Kester Hinds has been working with the Ministry of Public Works (Guyana) for the past 18 years, where he held various positions, but his responsibilities have always been in the department responsible for Road Traffic Safety and in recent years he has added maintenance of Guyana’s public road network to his portfolio of responsibility. Kester is a Civil Engineer, who has a MSc. in Project Management from The University of West Indies. He is also the holder of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He has received extensive Road Safety and Transportation training from various institutions, such as Delft University of the Netherlands, Land Transport Authority of Singapore, International Road Federation, Korea Expressway Corporation, John Hopkins International Injury Research Unit etc.
He has managed several projects over those 18 years, that sought to address unsafe road conditions and thus contribute towards a safer road network for all categories of road users.
Kester continues to champion initiatives that are geared towards ensuring that the road environment is safe for all its users as well as ensuring that the road infrastructure is maintained in a sustainable way.
